What this is
Ten steps that take a household from the home they live in to owning rental property on purpose instead of by accident. The order matters more than the speed. Most people who find this site are earning well, paying a great deal of tax and sitting on equity nobody has ever shown them how to use.
We teach the steps. We do not arrange financing, we do not file anyone's return and we never take a fee from a professional for sending someone their way.
Who writes it
My name means right hand. In Arabic it is yamani. In Tigrinya, my father's language, Yemane is the same word. A right hand is a serving role rather than a rank. It holds things up, it does the work beside the person who gets the credit. That is the seat I take with a family.
My father is from Asmara. My grandmother arrived in Miami with three suitcases. I grew up in Kendall and I am raising three children here, Alivia, Ashton and Addison.
Why ten steps and not nine
My grandfather practiced dentistry for fifty years in Jamaica. He owned the building in Halfway Tree that housed his practice and rented offices in it to other doctors. He held property across the island. He did nearly everything right. He never set up a trust.
When he passed the heirs disagreed, the estate was sold, the taxes came out of it and most of what was left was spent inside of three years. Fifty years built. Three years gone.
Then I watched my own mother lose her house in the years after 2001. Two generations, two different failures, one lesson underneath both of them. Earning is not owning. Owning without structure is a paycheck with an expiration date.
So the program is ten steps because the step most people skip is the one that decides whether any of the other nine still exists in twenty years.
What we do not say
No guaranteed outcome. No savings figure. No client's name attached to a number. Whether a strategy fits you is a question for your own CPA and we say so on every page that touches tax.
